Murrine opache –\u00a0Inscrutable and enigmatic, the finest hues of Black and Coral chase each another, giving life to an interplay of irregular symmetries: mysterious tiny dots meet slanted surfaces and bevelled edges.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Technique Murrine –\u00a0This is one of the most ancient decorative techniques, known already by the Romans and recovered in Murano in the early 1880s. It consists in combining several Canes (in Italian, Canne) of glass in different colours into a pre-established pattern. The composition is heated up until it melts into one single cane, which is then carefully cut into small sections. These glass sections are then placed in a specific order and heated up again in order to work and blow them into the final shape of the object.<\/p>\n
Carlo Scarpa –\u00a0Graduated from the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice, Carlo Scarpa dedicated himself to academic teaching in the same city, holding various positions until 1977. Scarpa asserted himself as a designer after the Second World War thanks to the creation of some important installations, particularly in Venice: the Paul Klee exhibition for the XXIV Biennale, the Pavilion of Art Books in 1950, and the Italian Pavilion at the XXVI Biennale. In 1932, he started working for VENINI and was the artistic director of the brand until 1946. After all these years, Carlo Scarpa left an indelible mark on the world of the Fornace (Kiln), due to his design of models that went down in history and his constant search for the most sophisticated techniques.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
