From «The Annunciation» by Paolo Veronese to the Fornace (Kiln): a wonderful journey for this fine vase by Vittorio Zecchin. A complex shape, curved beyond imagination: Veronese defies gravity, just like in the painting that inspired its creation. And its beauty wins it all, for centuries on end.

VITTORIO ZECCHIN: Vittorio Zecchin attended the Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice and subsequently presented a series of glass objects made at the Barovier glass factory with painter Teodoro Wolf Ferrari at the 1914 Biennale. During the First World War, he set up a tapestry workshop in a former convent in Murano. In those same years, he exhibited his works – artistic glasses, tapestries, embroideries, and paintings, at the Biennale exhibitions in Venice, Milan, Rome, Monza, Turin, and Paris. He also taught the subject of glass and glassmaking at the Abate Zanetti school in Murano. From 1921 to 1925, he worked as artistic director of the company Vetri Soffiati Muranesi Cappellin Venini & C.” and became one of the main exponents and most important innovators in the art of Murano glassmaking.
