With his bold vision and his ability to blend functionality and form, Gio Ponti transformed the very concept of design. On the occasion of “Italy at Work,” Ponti presented a series of nine bottles, each of which was a unique work of art in its own right. Among these bottles, two stood out particularly for their stylized anthropomorphic shape: the “Vecchia Dama” and the “Campigliesca.” These creations were not mere containers but expressions of a bold aesthetic and a deep understanding of the relationship between form and function. The “Vecchia Dama” and “Campigliesca” bottles are more than simple objects; they are tangible witnesses to Gio Ponti’s creative genius and his enduring impact on the world of design. Through them, we can reflect on the extraordinary legacy of a man who transformed the way we see and interact with the objects around us, leaving an indelible mark on the history of Italian and global design.
